Dr. Dennis Mangum Dr. Dennis Mangum - A 1971 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University, Dr. Dennis Mangum loves interacting with people and their pets. After receiving his Doctor's degree, Dr. Mangum settled in Pasadena, where in 1974, he opened the original Spencer Animal Hospital in a small shopping center. In 1979 that practice relocated to the current award winning facility dedicated to the continuation of providing quality animal health care. Dr. Mangum's professional credits include memberships in the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Harris County Veterinary Medical Association, and the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice. Additionally, Spencer Animal Hospital is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, of which Dr. Mangum is also a member.

Dr. Mangum serves as a Deacon of his church, and enjoys flying (he is a Certified Flight Instructor.) Other hobbies include running and biking.

Dr. Mangum and his wife have three married daughters and four grandsons. Two of his daughters and a son-in-law followed his footsteps to Texas A&M. His middle daughter, Alaina, is currently the Practice Manager of Spencer Animal Hospital.

"One thing I enjoy about my job is that every day is different; every patient and client is different. It is a great satisfaction to help the sick and injured, to see them improve. I enjoy educating new puppy and kitten owners and watching little ones become beautiful healthy animals. Another enjoyment that I receive in working at Spencer Animal Hospital is to have the opportunity to work with our dedicated staff. It's rare to have a team where each and every person is highly professional, compassionate, friendly, and has a great sense of humor." Prior to joining the staff at Spencer Animal Hospital Dr. Borovik had been engaged in private veterinary practice in both New York and Texas.

Dr. Borovik continues to advance her skills as a clinician and surgeon. Her direct duties in surgery include responsibility for most procedures performed. She also engages in outpatient care, including diagnosis and teatment of outpatient cases. Dr. Borovik is also responsible (along with Dr. Mangum) for inpatient care, including assigning diagnostic tests and ordering and administering treatments. Dr. Borovik is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Harris County and Gulf Coast VMAs. In her spare time she enjoys reading, knitting, gardening and spending "quality time" with her family.
