Supporting Families Through the Loss of a Pet

Pet Loss Support From The Staff at Spencer Animal Hospital

It is never easy to say goodbye to a beloved animal companion. As lifelong animal lovers, we understand the special bond between people and their pets. To help ease your pain, we would like to offer a helping hand if you should find yourself dealing with the grief that comes with having to say goodbye. We hope you will find the following resources helpful for coping with your loss.

  • Light a candle—We invite you to light a virtual candle to honor your departed animal companion.
  • Pet loss library—A collection of articles written by grief professionals that address many of the questions people have during a time of loss. It also contains articles and stories from other pet owners who have experienced a similar loss.
  • Pet memorials—Create an online remembrance of your pet. We encourage you to share pictures, videos, and memories of this special member of your family.

We have been clients of Spencer Animal Hospital for over 35 years. I know I have always been given excellent care whether it has been routine health care or for an emergency. I appreciate the kindness given to us and our animals and the honest information given when sometimes it is not what we wanted to hear.
