Alaina, Hospital Manager

AlainaAlaina has worked at Spencer Animal Hospital since graduating from Texas A&M University in May 2004—although really, she’s been around Pasadena since she was born. Dr. Mangum is her father and has had her doing things around the hospital since she can remember. Alaina loves her job! And getting to be around furry pets in a loving atmosphere is an excellent perk, too. She spends her spare time flying and having fun with her son, daughter and husband.

Karen, Receptionist

KarenKaren has worked at Spencer Animal Hospital since 1974. She started with Dr. Mangum, her neighbor, right out of High School. One day her dad took the dogs to get their shots, and during the visit he asked if the hospital was hiring. Of course, they were! She was a little taken aback, but now the rest is history. See, Karen was one of those kids who knew she wasn’t supposed to feed strays, but seemed to always figure out a way to do so. The Spencer Animal Hospital office is a great place to work, and so many of Karen’s clients and co-workers feel more like family.

Outside of work, she of course has a wonderful family of her own, and Karen loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

We have been clients of Spencer Animal Hospital for over 35 years. I know I have always been given excellent care whether it has been routine health care or for an emergency. I appreciate the kindness given to us and our animals and the honest information given when sometimes it is not what we wanted to hear.

The doctors continue to keep abreast of changes in veterinary medicine, and have also worked with specialists in the care of our pets.
