Our Commitment to Excellence: AAHA Accreditation

Learn More About Spencer Animal Hospital

As evidence of our commitment to our patients and the community at large, Spencer Animal Hospital has maintained American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accreditation for more than 30 years. Only a handful of veterinary hospitals throughout the United States have maintained accreditation for that length of time.

What does AAHA accreditation mean?

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is an international veterinary organization that is committed to maintaining excellence in the field of veterinary medicine. In the 1930s, a group of veterinarians set out to establish standards that doctors could use in their day-to-day practices to raise the level of care being provided to household pets.

Today, there are approximately 3,200 AAHA-accredited veterinary hospitals nationwide. Participation is voluntary; hospitals that choose to be assessed are evaluated on 900 standards of veterinary care and business practices. Consultants regularly visit accredited facilities to ensure continued compliance in quality of care, diagnostics, pharmacy, management, medical records, facility, and more.

Dr. Mangum and his staff have been our pets’ choice clinic since 1971. Never has there been a more knowledgeable, caring, and friendly team with such unprecedented customer service. Forty one years of great service to us and all of our pets throughout the years!

We have been clients of Spencer Animal Hospital for over 35 years. I know I have always been given excellent care whether it has been routine health care or for an emergency. I appreciate the kindness given to us and our animals and the honest information given when sometimes it is not what we wanted to hear.
